Nintendo may be holding a Nintendo Direct presentation sometime during this month in September, 2023, based on the latest rumor.
Universo Nintendo claims, based on information obtained by them via anonymous and trusted sources, that a Nintendo Direct presentation will take place next week, between September 11, 2023 and September 15, 2023. Additionally, NateTheHate, who has shared accurate leaks in the past, had also suggested on Twitter that Nintendo will be holding a Direct sometime in September, 2023.
In response to a question that asked if he knew the date and time of the rumored Nintendo Direct, Nate stated “soon-ish”. Another question then asked if fans will get a Nintendo direct this month despite the Mario Wonder Direct happening today on September 1, 2023. Nate replied by saying that one event doesn’t negate the other. Furthermore, going by what Universo Nintendo claims, the Nintendo Direct presentation may be happening sooner rather than later, possibly sometime next week.
If a Nintendo Direct does indeed happen this month, fans would likely be expecting the console maker to reveal the Switch successor at the event. Previously, multiple sources had indicated that the Nintendo Switch successor would receive an official announcement in the Summer of 2023. During a recent episode of Last of the Nintendogs, host Jeff Grubb, who is known for his connections in the video game industry, had mentioned that he heard there would be some sort of announcement regarding the Nintendo Switch successor in the second half of 2023, during the Summer period.
NateTheHate had also shared similar details regarding the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 in his recent podcast. According to him, the announcement timing for the next console will happen after Nintendo’s current Fiscal Year, which ends on March 31, 2024. This is in line with what Grubb had said regarding an announcement in the Summer period. The console maker likely has a Nintendo Direct lined up for the Switch successor reveal sometime between July and September. Additionally, Nate had shared some details regarding the console’s launch and specs. As per what he had heard, the Nintendo Switch 2 is set for launch in late 2024. He claimed to have heard from multiple developers that they knew about devkits.
