Nintendo has officially confirmed that a new Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase will take place on July 31, 2025, beginning at 6 AM Pacific Time. The broadcast will last roughly 25 minutes and focus on titles developed by third-party partners for both the Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2.
The announcement, made through the official Nintendo of America social media account, comes after weeks of speculation regarding a potential Direct at the end of July. Fueling that speculation were multiple clues, including scheduled Nintendo Online maintenance set for the night of July 30, which many interpreted as a possible indication of an impending broadcast.
The confirmation arrives during a turbulent week in Japan, where seismic activity has prompted tsunami warnings across several regions. Earlier today, Nintendo Japan postponed the announcement of the fifth My Nintendo Store lottery winners for the Switch 2 console. Originally scheduled for July 30, the results will now be revealed on August 4. No official reason was provided for the delay, but it is likely tied to public safety concerns following the tsunami alert.
An official statement from Nintendo reads:
“The announcement of the winners of the 5th Nintendo Switch 2 console lottery, which was scheduled for today, Wednesday 30 July, will be postponed until Monday 4 August. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to customers who have applied.”
Adding further intrigue to the lead-up to Nintendo’s Direct announcement, Nippon Ichi Software appears to have accidentally revealed a new title called Garden Life ahead of schedule. The now-deleted tweet described the game as a countryside life simulation project created by the team behind the Yomawari series. Screenshots captured by users on Reddit show the game is expected to release on July 30, 2026, across Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. A special edition with pre-order incentives was also mentioned.
While no official schedule of games has been confirmed for the Partner Showcase, it remains possible that Garden Life was among the titles intended to be revealed during the presentation.
