Nintendo has laid out the upcoming fixes for Kirby Air Ride after admitting there are a couple of gameplay problems that have bothered players since the game launched. The company shared the specifics on its official Twitter/X account, recognizing issues tied to how often events pop up in City Trial and how the timer acts in Free Run mode. While these glitches don’t show up in every single play session, they have been consistent enough for Nintendo to start working on an update meant to make the experience more stable. The publisher also apologized to players for the trouble this has caused.
Nintendo has confirmed two issues related to the game. The first issue involves the City Trial event featuring Dyna Blade. The publisher noted that “The frequency of the City Trial event, ‘Fierce Bird Dyna Blade Descends!!’, is sometimes lower than intended.” This problem can disrupt the variety and pacing of City Trial sessions, particularly for players who are relying on the event to appear regularly during normal gameplay.
Nintendo also confirmed a second problem relating to extended play sessions. The company noted that “The timer’s progression can become erratic when playing in Free Run mode for an extended period.” This can create uncertainty for players who rely on the mode for practice or exploration, as the timer may not behave as designed after the game has been running for a long time.
Kirby Air Riders launched exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 20, 2025. The title serves as a sequel to the GameCube release Kirby Air Ride and continues the series’ focus on fast action racing across multiple modes. It features characters riding various Air Ride Machines and includes Air Ride, Top Ride, and City Trial modes.
