The update arrives as the original Nintendo Switch continues its late lifecycle phase. Following its launch on June 5, 2025, the system has posted record-breaking sales, moving over 10.36 million units within its first four months on the market. Nintendo has since raised its full-year sales forecast to 19 million units, citing strong software performance and high engagement across its user base.
