Nintendo Releases The Legend Of Zelda Movie Screenshots, First Official Look At Link & Zelda

Nintendo has released screenshots from The Legend of Zelda movie, revealing the first official look at both Link and Zelda.

The Nintendo Today app has been updated (via Stealth40k on Twitter/X) with the first official pictures of Link and Zelda from the live action The Legend of Zelda movie. The screenshots feature actors Benjamin Evan Ainsworth and Bo Bragason, who play the roles of Link and Princess Zelda, respectively, in the film adaptation of the long-running action-adventure game series.

The pictures show the live-action renditions of both characters in the fields of Hyrule. Princess Zelda is seen carrying her bow as well a quiver of arrows.

Furthermore, The Legend of Zelda movie producer and legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto offered an update on the live-action film’s progress. He mentioned that filming is underway with both lead actors, and that the movie is on schedule for release on May 7, 2027. “Filming is underway for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda in a lush, natural setting, with Bo Bragason-san who will play Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san who will play Link,” he said. “Filming is on track for the film’s release on May 7, 2027. It will take a while until the release, so we would be grateful if you would wait patiently and look forward to it.”

One of the brief videos recently leaked from the set of The Legend of Zelda movie showed Princess Zelda actress Bo Bragason standing beside a pair of horses, interacting with a mysterious individual who gives her a weapon. We now know that the character is none other than Impa, and she is played by Australian actress Dichen Lachman. She is a recurring character in the series, portrayed as Princess Zelda’s nursemaid or protector.
