Nintendo Switch 2 Announcement Rumored for Next Week Ahead of Investors Briefing

by Ali Haider

Rumors surrounding the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 are intensifying, with multiple insiders hinting at a reveal potentially scheduled for early next week. Despite Nintendo’s silence on a successor to the popular Switch console, speculation has increased that the company could finally make an announcement, possibly in the coming days, in time for an upcoming investor briefing on November 5.

The insider known as “Brazil” recently speculated that a reveal may occur on Monday or Tuesday, aligning with the end-of-October timeline that has circulated among Nintendo enthusiasts. According to Brazil, industry sources believe the timing may be right due to key developments, such as certain games that could feature the Switch 2 logo and the broader industry buzz surrounding the release. Brazil noted, “I’ll speak openly: next week, like Monday or Tuesday, in key hours I’m going to check Nintendo’s Twitter and keep pressing F5 there.”

Adding to this, another insider, Pyoro, hinted at an imminent announcement by updating their Twitter profile with a “looking eyes” emoji and an image of a newly released Nintendo device called “Alarmo.”

The pressure for an announcement is likely tied to Nintendo’s upcoming investor meeting on November 5. Reports suggest that during the previous shareholder meeting in May, President Shuntaro Furukawa addressed the ongoing discussions around the Switch successor. With shareholders eagerly awaiting updates, insiders believe that Nintendo may not be able to delay the announcement much longer, as they currently have few major titles lined up for release aside from Metroid Prime 4 and Donkey Kong Country Returns. Brazil emphasized this situation, stating, “They cannot get to the shareholder meeting without anything to show… if they’re not absolute lunatics, they’ll announce it beforehand.”

Given the recent rumors, it’s easy to believe that Nintendo may have something planned for next week. The Nintendo Switch has been on the market for over seven years, making it the right time to announce a successor.
