A Disney game that has been Nintendo Switch exclusive thus far appears to be making its way to PlayStation 5.

The Nintendo Switch exclusive title in question is Disney Illusion Island Starring Mickey and Friends, which was originally released on July 28, 2023. As seen in the screenshot below, a new listing on PS Deals claims that the game is set for release for PS5 nearly 2 years later on May 30, 2025.

PS Deals fetches its information from the PlayStation Store database, so the PS5 release date of May 30, 2025, for Disney Illusion Island is likely accurate. Given that the title is based on a Disney franchise, it undoubtedly had a timed exclusivity window for the Nintendo Switch, which now appears to have expired.

While there is no information on availability on other platforms, it’s likely that Disney Illusion Island will also find its way on Steam and Xbox consoles on the same day as the PS5 version’s launch.

For the uninitiated, Disney Illusion Island is a 2D side-scrolling platformer developed by Dlala Studios and published by Disney Electronic Content. It features gameplay reminiscent of the Metroidvania genre. Players begin by selecting one of four characters—Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, or Goofy—and explore different regions across Monoth Island using an expanding map. While each character has unique animations, their gameplay mechanics remain identical. Initially, players can only walk and jump, but additional movement abilities such as double jumping, wall jumping, ground-pounding, and swinging are unlocked as the game progresses.

Combat is not part of the core gameplay. Instead, players must evade enemy attacks encountered along the way. In specific sections, boss encounters require players to dodge incoming attacks and interact with buttons or complete platforming sequences to deal indirect damage. Taking a hit results in the loss of a heart, and depleting all hearts sends the player back to the last activated checkpoint, marked by a mailbox. The game allows players to customize the number of hearts they begin with at each checkpoint and includes an option to enable invincibility.
