Nintendo Switch Online Adds Mario Tennis, Mario Clash, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong on March 10

Nintendo has announced that three classic Mario titles will be added to its Nintendo Switch Online library on March 10. The lineup includes two games originally released for the Virtual Boy, along with a Game Boy Advance title, expanding the retro catalog available across Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

For standard Nintendo Switch Online members, the Virtual Boy titles Mario’s Tennis and Mario Clash will be made available. Mario’s Tennis, which first launched on Nintendo’s short-lived Virtual Boy system, offered players a straightforward tennis experience centered on timing and positioning.

Joining it is Mario Clash, another Virtual Boy release that revisited the classic Mario Bros. style gameplay. The title places emphasis on depth-based mechanics, with players tossing shells between foreground and background layers to defeat enemies. The design was originally intended to demonstrate the system’s 3D capabilities, though the core gameplay remains a challenging arcade-style platform experience.

Nintendo Switch Online Plus Expansion Pack subscribers will also gain access to Mario vs. Donkey Kong, a Game Boy Advance release that focuses more heavily on puzzle-solving than traditional platforming. The game follows Mario as he guides small mechanical Mini Mario toys through a series of increasingly complex stages filled with traps, switches, and hazards. It serves as a follow-up of sorts to the classic 1994 Game Boy title and continues the long-running rivalry between Mario and Donkey Kong.

The full list of additions arriving on March 10 includes the following titles.

  • Mario’s Tennis for Virtual Boy
  • Mario Clash for Virtual Boy
  • Mario vs. Donkey Kong for Game Boy Advance

These releases are part of Nintendo’s broader effort to bring older titles from across its hardware history to modern platforms. With the additions launching on March 10, players will soon have another opportunity to revisit these Mario games through the Nintendo Switch Online service.
