Nintendo has released a new overview trailer for Nintendo Switch Sports Resort ahead of its October 22 launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. The trailer showcases the island setting, sports, activities and new ways for players to compete and explore.
Set on Wuhu Island, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort features 12 sports alongside various activities and minigames designed to be accessible to players of different experience levels. Players can compete with friends and family, explore the island and take part in activities across land, sea and sky, either locally or online.
The sports lineup includes Boxing, Archery and Thumb Wrestling, with Joy-Con 2 motion controls used for activities such as firing arrows. Players can also earn Spocco Points by playing sports and exchange them for character outfits, hairstyles and sports equipment.
For players looking for a greater challenge, the new Island Crown Mode lets them compete against highly ranked Island Champions. Those who progress far enough can eventually challenge an Island Legend.
Outside the sports activities, Skateboarding, Power Cruising and Prop Plane modes allow players to explore Wuhu Island at their own pace. Cameras placed around the island can also be discovered to unlock Spocco Photos containing information about sightseeing locations.
Players can customise their Sportsmate with different hairstyles, outfits, accessories and body types. The game also supports Mii characters created on Nintendo Switch 2, as well as existing Mii characters brought over to the console.
