Once Upon a Katamari is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing Bandai Namco’s latest Katamari adventure to the console with new mouse controls, smoother frame rates and improved visuals. The Rolling LIVE Highlights paid DLC has also launched across all supported platforms.
The game takes players through different eras, including prehistoric periods and historic Japan, as the Prince and his Cousins roll objects into increasingly large Katamari. Their goal is to restore the stars after the King of All Cosmos accidentally destroys the Earth, Moon and countless stars.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version introduces mouse controls through the Joy-Con 2 controllers, providing a new way to control the rolling Katamari. Existing Nintendo Switch owners can transfer their save data to Switch 2 as long as there is no existing save data on the new console.
Nintendo Switch owners playing the game on Switch 2 will also receive a free update that improves performance and adds mouse controls.
The Rolling LIVE Highlights DLC is available separately on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. Inspired by Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE, the expansion adds 10 missions, six Cousins, 12 songs and 18 accessories based around live streaming.
A limited-time launch discount is also available on participating platforms. Once Upon a Katamari is available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, while the DLC is also included in the Once Upon a Katamari Rolling LIVE Highlights Edition.
