PAYDAY 3 Update 2.4 Fixes Weapon Bugs, UI Issues, and Heist Exploits

Starbreeze Studios has released Update 2.4 for PAYDAY 3, addressing a wide range of technical and gameplay issues discovered since the release of the Delivery Charge Heist update. This latest patch focuses on polishing the user interface, improving stability, and resolving lingering bugs that affected core mechanics, heist flow, and equipment functionality. Key UI enhancements include new HUD indicators to show when a player or crew AI is carrying a bag, as well as several text and display fixes to improve clarity during missions and post-heist screens.

Beyond visual improvements, Update 2.4 delivers essential gameplay and performance refinements. Players will find that vault door interactions, melee combat balance, and Overkill weapon behavior have been stabilized, while various rare crashes and input conflicts have been fixed. Several heist-specific issues have also been resolved, ensuring smoother experiences in Touch the Sky and Delivery Charge.

UI

  • Added a HUD indicator to display when a player or AI teammate is carrying a bag.
  • Prevented the HUD distance icon from overlapping with thermal drill display panels.
  • Fixed mismatched C-Stack amounts between result screens and actual rewards.
  • Removed “Not the party leader” prompts when playing solo.
  • Prevented tutorial popups from reappearing after completion.
  • Fixed text chat in solo mode retaining previous messages while typing a new one.

Gameplay

  • Fixed players getting stuck on vault doors, including during the combat tutorial.
  • Prevented Arges M135 OVERSKILL armor buff from persisting after custody.
  • Corrected vault and container door directions, preventing guards from being pushed incorrectly.
  • Stopped enemies from being stunlocked by repeated melee attacks.

Technical Changes

  • Fixed content lock issues for Heavy Hitter Pack and Assassin Pack for Year 1 Pass owners on Steam.
  • Fixed “Secure X bags” daily challenge progression for all players, regardless of who secures the bags.
  • Fixed throwing knives becoming unavailable after being shocked mid-throw.
  • Fixed Sociopath overkill weapon activation from replacing another overkill weapon.
  • Fixed lobby crash when pressing the ready button.
  • Fixed Techie enemy spawning without deploying drones.
  • Resolved input conflicts where dual key bindings blocked both actions.
  • Fixed weapons being replaced by modified presets in inventory.
  • Ensured silencers are equipped by default for new players.
  • Fixed a rare crash when returning to the login screen from the main menu.
  • Fixed main menu character model transparency issue when switching between loadouts.
  • Fixed escape helicopters appearing tilted forward while hovering.

Heist Changes

Touch the Sky

  • Fixed players starting crouched when using the Window Cleaning Platform favor.

Delivery Charge

  • Fixed bags being thrown out of bounds where loot containers spawn.
  • Prevented players from spawning five Wixia containers instead of two by activating favors in a specific order.

PAYDAY 3 is a cooperative first-person shooter developed by Starbreeze Studios and published by Deep Silver, marking the return of the legendary Payday Gang in a new era of high-tech heists. Set in a surveillance-heavy New York City, the game offers both stealth and loud approaches to missions, supported by modern mechanics, gadgets, and full cross-platform play.
