Arc System Works has revealed a new playable character for Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls, confirming that Peni Parker will join the roster as part of a newly introduced team. The announcement was made during the Arc World Tour 2025 to 2026 Finals in Korea, where the developer also showcased the second team featured in the game.

Known as the Amazing Guardians, the newly unveiled lineup brings together a mix of established and newer Marvel heroes. The team includes Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Star Lord, and Peni Parker, each with their own distinct playstyles and personalities. Their story will unfold in the game’s Episode Mode, which explores how the group comes together and faces a larger threat.

Peni Parker stands out as one of the more unique additions. Depicted as a young Japanese American prodigy, she pilots the SP dr mech suit originally created by her father. In combat, she relies on a variety of gadgets and tools, allowing players to adapt their approach on the fly. The character also features a bilingual element, occasionally speaking Japanese depending on the voiceover.

The reveal trailer also introduced a new figure known as the Promoter, whose real name is Xirena Awhina. Described as an Elder of the Universe, she serves as the orchestrator of a large-scale tournament that will determine the fate of Earth. Her role appears central to the game’s overarching narrative, though further details have yet to be disclosed.

In addition to character announcements, Arc System Works outlined a new system feature that automatically generates team names based on the characters selected. These names draw from Marvel lore and are presented during matches, including announcements from an in-game ring announcer.

The development team also confirmed that several gameplay refinements have been implemented following feedback from earlier closed beta tests. These adjustments are part of an ongoing effort to polish the experience ahead of release.

Players will have an opportunity to try the latest build at EVO Japan 2026, scheduled to take place from May 1 to May 3 in Tokyo. The demo will include Peni Parker as a playable character, along with the Knowhere stage, bringing the total number of available fighters in the build to 12 across 4 stages.
