The often rumored remake of Sega and Atlus’ role-playing game, Persona 4, appears to have been confirmed by a voice actor featured in the original.
Persona 4 voice actor Yuri Lowenthal took to Blue Sky to share that he will not be returning as Yosuke for the remake, seemingly confirming its existence. He further stated that he tried contacting people at Atlus in order to make it happen, but he had no success. He jokingly added, “Maybe I even begged, but they don’t want me to come back.”
This wouldn’t be the first time the existence of a Persona 4 remake has been hinted at. On March 20, 2025, a mysterious domain for the web address “p4re.jp” was registered. The registrant’s name was not made public at their request. It was then updated around a month ago. It’s worth noting that the domain for Persona 3 Reload’s official website followed a similar pattern. It was registered on March 15, 2023, with the game receiving a subsequent announcement at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 11, 2023. Going by the similar date of registration for the ‘p4re.jp’ domain and today’s update, it’s likely that the Persona 4 remake may receive an announcement at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase on June 8, 2025.
In a recent video on his YouTube channel, known insider and content creator eXtas1s had mentioned hearing that the rumored Persona 4 remake will be released day one on Xbox Game Pass, just like Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica before it. He referred to the title as “Persona 4 Reload”.
Earlier, Persona 4 vocalist Shihoko Hirata had revealed that she had been recording a theme song for an unannounced game. She shared an Instagram post from MIT Studio in Tokyo, a location known for recording Persona soundtracks, including Persona 5 Strikers. Fans also noticed that she liked comments referencing Persona 4, hinting that her work could be connected to the rumored remake.
