Persona5 The Phantom X has received a major new update, with SEGA confirming that Version 2.7 is now live on both mobile and PC. The update introduces fresh limited-time content through a new event storyline and expands the playable roster with the arrival of Justine and Caroline as a new 5-star character.
The headline addition in Version 2.7 is Crossroads of Fate: Twins Arc, a crossover event that brings the twin wardens from Persona 5 Royal into the world of Persona5 The Phantom X. The event features an original narrative that pairs Justine and Caroline with Wonder, allowing players to experience new stages built specifically for this collaboration. By completing event missions, players can earn rewards such as Meta Jewels and Platinum Milicoins, alongside Ancient Rebel Coins that can be exchanged for items including Gold Tickets through a limited-time shop. The event is scheduled to run until 1:59 AM UTC on Jan 22, 2026.
Alongside the story content, the event also introduces a dedicated boss battle that scales in difficulty based on a Distortion Level system. As the boss grows stronger, players are rewarded with Cosmic Rebel Coins and Joy Medals, which can be used to obtain protagonist-exclusive weapons, casual outfits, and other items. Once a boss is defeated at a specific Distortion Level, Stamina Mode becomes available for that tier, allowing players to rechallenge the fight using stamina to earn additional rewards.
Version 2.7 also marks the debut of Justine and Caroline as a fully playable 5-star unit. They are featured in the Most Wanted Phantom Idol Contracts: Road to Rehabilitation, where their appearance rate is increased for a limited time, also ending at 1:59 AM UTC on Jan 22, 2026. Their exclusive 5-star weapon, Warden’s Judgement, can be acquired through Arms Deals: Silent Pistol.
According to SEGA, Justine and Caroline are notable for being the first Virtuoso unit and the first 5-star Almighty character in the game. They come equipped with 4 distinct skills, each offering different effects and attributes. Before entering battle, players can select 2 of these skills to tailor the twins’ role to their party composition, influencing how they function in combat through varied damage, support, and recovery effects.
Persona5 The Phantom X is a free-to-play Heart Changing Heist RPG available on iOS, Android, Google Play Games, and Steam. The game launched on June 26, 2025, and follows a new protagonist balancing everyday student life in Tokyo with covert Phantom Thief activities in the Metaverse. Optional in-game purchases are available.
