Nintendo has released Pikmin 4 Update 1.1.0, introducing several major gameplay additions and quality-of-life improvements. Players can now customize the activity levels of creatures between Relaxed, Normal, and Fierce, offering greater flexibility for exploration and strategy. A new “Field Camera” feature allows players to capture and decorate photos with stamps and frames, adding a creative element to the adventure. Additionally, Decor Pikmin make their debut in the story mode, enabling players to connect their findings to the Pikmin Bloom mobile app and unlock matching seedlings.
The update also introduces the “Roll Over” option, allowing a new playthrough while carrying over select save data from a completed file, alongside refined control options such as adjustable targeting, whistle centering, and precision aiming. These enhancements, combined with numerous bug fixes, make Pikmin 4’s latest version a more polished and enjoyable experience. The same improvements have also been distributed for the game’s demo version.

Newly Added Gameplay
- Added selectable activity levels for creatures: Relaxed, Normal, and Fierce.
- This can be changed anytime in Settings under Options (– Button).
- Introduced the Field Camera item, allowing players to take photos and decorate them with stamps and frames.
- The Field Camera is added to your bag on the morning of day 2.
- For save data from before the update, it will appear after returning to the Rescue Command Post and morning arrives.
- Added Decor Pikmin to the story mode.
- After rescuing Rescue Corps Ranger Dingo, take photos of Decor Pikmin using the Field Camera to have them join your squad.
- By sharing Decor Pikmin data from Pikmin 4 with the Pikmin Bloom app, players can obtain matching seedlings in Pikmin Bloom.
- The Nintendo Account ID must be the same for both Pikmin 4 and Pikmin Bloom.
- Added “Roll Over”, allowing a new playthrough while retaining some save data from a cleared file.
- Players can start this from an empty Rescue Database after clearing the story.
- If the player has reached the morning of day 2, they may skip the introduction when replaying.
- The new playthrough begins on day 2 at Sun-Speckled Terrace after creating an ID Badge.
Newly Added Controls
- Added options in Settings under Options (– Button):
- Enable or disable Auto Target Lock for Cursor.
- Choose whether the Cursor or Player Avatar serves as the center point for the whistle.
- Defaults to “Player Avatar” when activity level is set to “Relaxed,” but can be changed anytime.
- Choose Normal or Precise aiming speed for the arrow when holding X to aim.
- “Precise” makes aiming Pikmin’s Charge and Oatchi’s Rush easier.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed various issues to improve the gameplay experience.
Note:
A patch with the same updates has been released for the Pikmin 4 demo (Ver. 1.1.0). The demo version does not support Pikmin Bloom connectivity.
