PopCap Studios has released the official launch trailer for Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, offering the first in-depth look at the remastered version of the original tower defense classic that helped define the genre. The trailer showcases a complete visual overhaul, new gameplay features, and a surprise cameo from a familiar face in gaming history.

The new trailer highlights Replanted’s reimagined visuals, featuring fully remastered HD graphics and modernized animations that bring the garden battles to life on current-generation platforms. The video also confirms the appearance of Valve’s iconic Headcrab Zombie as a special cameo.

According to PopCap, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted aims to recreate the charm and strategic depth of the original 2009 title while introducing a range of enhancements designed for both returning fans and new players. Earlier this week, the studio also released a gameplay deep dive trailer, providing a closer look at several new and returning features. Among these are new game modes such as Cloudy Day and Rest In Peace mode, as well as a series of updated mini-games that expand on the formula of the original release.

The remaster also introduces several technical and gameplay improvements, including support for local cooperative and competitive multiplayer on the Nintendo Switch 2 via GameShare.

Launching on October 23, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted will be available for $19.99 across PC and console platforms, including Steam, the EA app, the Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The release marks the return of one of PopCap’s most successful franchises, blending nostalgic gameplay with contemporary presentation and new layers of content.
