Sony has officially revealed the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup for January, bringing a strong mix of horror, role playing, racing, and indie experiences to subscribers. Headlining the update are Resident Evil Village and Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, with the full selection becoming available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members starting January 20.
One of the most notable additions this month is Resident Evil Village, the eighth main entry in Capcom’s long-running survival horror series. Set several years after the events of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, the game follows Ethan Winters as he is once again pulled into a nightmare, this time centered around a mysterious and hostile village that plays a central role in the unfolding horror. The title is available on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
Also joining the catalog is Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, the latest major release from the Yakuza series. The game brings together Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu in a large-scale role-playing adventure that spans both Honolulu and Tokyo. Players can expect story driven brawls, enhanced hybrid RPG combat, and a wide range of side activities, continuing the series tradition of blending drama with offbeat humor.
For players looking for a different pace, Expeditions: A MudRunner Game expands the catalog with a focus on off road exploration and scientific missions. Available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, the game challenges players to traverse dangerous environments using specialized vehicles, advanced tools, and careful planning, either solo or with others.
Horror fans will also find A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead joining the lineup exclusively on PlayStation 5. Inspired by the film franchise, the single-player adventure centers on a survivor navigating a creature-infested apocalypse while dealing with personal and family struggles. The game emphasizes tension and atmosphere as players attempt to endure a world where silence is critical.
Additional January additions include Darkest Dungeon II, which continues the series bleak roguelike journey with a road trip structure and deeper character development, and The Exit 8, a short psychological experience built around observation and unease in an endless underground passageway. Art of Rally adds a stylized top-down racing experience inspired by classic rally competitions, while A Little to the Left offers a more relaxed puzzle-focused experience centered on organizing objects, occasionally disrupted by a mischievous cat.
For PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, Ridge Racer joins the service this month. The classic racing title has been enhanced with modern features such as rewind, quick save, visual filters, and customizable music playback, while preserving the arcade style racing that defined the original release.
Sony confirmed that all titles in the January Game Catalog update will be playable starting January 20, with availability varying by region and over time for streaming compatible games.
