PlayStation State of Play Reportedly Planned for February 2026

by Ali Haider

A new PlayStation State of Play presentation is reportedly scheduled for February 2026, according to well-known industry insider NateTheHate, renewing expectations that Sony will once again kick off the year with a major digital showcase.

The information surfaced following a direct exchange on social media. User JojoPS971 asked, “Hello there is a state of Play in February?” to which NateTheHate responded, “There will be, yes.” The confirmation stands out because Nate had previously indicated that he did not have any information about a February State of Play earlier this month.

On January 25, another user, OwenSan87048285, asked, “@NateTheHate2 have you heard anything about an SoP?” At that time, Nate replied, “I haven’t at this moment in time.” The contrast between the two responses suggests that new details may have become available to the insider since his earlier statement.

Additional context comes from MBG (@xMBGx), who noted on January 24 that “For the last 5 years Sony has held a State of Play at the tail end of January or early February.” MBG also cautioned that there is no guarantee the pattern will continue in 2026, while acknowledging that “there’s a good chance they will.”

At present, Sony has not publicly commented on a February State of Play. Until an official announcement is made, the reported plans remain based solely on insider commentary and historical patterns, though the recent confirmation from NateTheHate has added weight to the possibility.
