PlayStation State of Play September 2025: All Major Announcements

Sony Interactive Entertainment hosted its latest State of Play broadcast in September 2025, delivering a packed lineup of game reveals, release date confirmations, and fresh gameplay footage for several highly anticipated titles. The event spotlighted both new projects and returning franchises, while also providing hardware announcements and updates to PlayStation Plus.

Among the biggest highlights was the reveal of Marvel’s Wolverine, developed by Insomniac Games, which is scheduled to launch in Fall 2026. The gameplay debut showcased Logan’s brutal combat style, cinematic action, and international settings that include Madripoor, Tokyo, and the Canadian wilderness. Fans also caught glimpses of familiar faces such as Mystique and Omega Red.

Another major announcement came from Electronic Arts with Battlefield 6, which introduces a globe-spanning single-player campaign following the elite unit Dagger 13. Bandai Namco confirmed Code Vein II for January 30, 2026, and Koei Tecmo revealed Nioh 3 will launch on February 6, 2026. Aspyr and Eidos Montreal are revisiting the cyberpunk classic Deus Ex with a full PS5 remaster releasing February 5, while Crimson Desert and Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered are both set for March 19, 2026.

The horror genre made its presence known with IllFonic’s Halloween, arriving September 8, 2026, which allows players to experience both single-player storytelling and asymmetrical multiplayer in the town of Haddonfield. Meanwhile, Eleventh Hour Games announced that Last Epoch will arrive on PS5 alongside its first expansion, Oryboss.

The broadcast also included extended looks at Chronoscript: The Endless End, Housemarque’s sci-fi action title Saros (March 20, 2026), and IllFonic’s Let It Die: Inferno (December 3, 2025). Sega unveiled Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds crossover DLC featuring Mega Man and Proto Man, while Netmarble confirmed a January 28, 2026 release for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin. ZA/UM, the studio behind Disco Elysium, revealed its espionage RPG Zero Parades – For Dead Spies.

Microsoft also joined the showcase to announce Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 for PlayStation 5, releasing December 8, 2025, with PS VR2 support arriving in 2026.

Beyond games, Sony revealed new hardware in the form of the PlayStation Pulse Elevate Wireless speakers and celebrated God of War’s 20th anniversary with a limited edition DualSense controller arriving this October. Gran Turismo fans can look forward to a major Gran Turismo 7 Spec III update this December, adding new vehicles, tracks, and features.

Finally, PlayStation Plus will see The Last of Us Part II joining the Game Catalog on September 26, followed by October’s lineup featuring Alan Wake 2, Goat Simulator 3, and Cocoon. Additional classics including Tekken 3, Soulcalibur III, and Tomb Raider Anniversary will also be added later this month.
