PlayStation Store will release a Wallet Credits app in order to redeem gift vouchers and possibly reward points from a future program similar to PS Stars.

The Wallet Credits app (via Reddit users ICantBeTrusted and JDevil_) will allow PSN users to redeem credit vouchers sent by Sony Interactive Entertainment to go towards any purchase they make on the PlayStation Store. It’s possible that the app may be used to redeem reward points obtained via a future replacement of the PS Stars program.

Currently, in order to redeem gift credit vouchers sent by Sony Interactive Entertainment, users are required to head to the Latest tab in the PlayStation Store on their PS5, find and select the banner for their voucher, and hit Redeem to add the credit to their wallet. Once Wallet Credits is available, all future credit vouchers and potential reward points will be redeemable via the dedicated app.

Sony Interactive Entertainment officially discontinued the PlayStation Stars loyalty program on November 2, 2026. Without mentioning anything concrete, the company expressed interest in pursing new directions for its loyalty initiatives. The statement read, “Since launching the program, we’ve learned a lot from evaluating the types of activities our players respond best to. As a company, we are always evolving with player and industry trends. We have decided to refocus our efforts and will be winding down the current version of PlayStation Stars.”

While details on a successor or revised loyalty initiative have yet to be revealed, Sony Interactive Entertainment noted that the insights gained from PlayStation Stars will guide future efforts to provide more meaningful rewards and community engagement tools. Originally launched in 2022, PlayStation Stars was designed to reward players for engaging with their PlayStation consoles, with incentives including redeemable points, status levels, and a variety of digital collectibles that celebrated the platform’s rich gaming history.
