PlayStation is sending out a survey to evaluate interest in Guerrilla Games’ upcoming co-op action game, Horizon Hunters Gathering.
In the new survey sent out by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the console maker is gauging the interest of PlayStation users in the reveal trailer for Horizon Hunters Gathering that released on YouTube last week. Respondents are initially asked for their overall impression, after which they’re asked for aspects of the trailer that were specifically the most exciting to them.
Response choices include factors like the game taking place in the Horizon universe, its rogue-lite build system, post-launch updates, play test opportunity, customizable campsite, story campaign, world introduction (cinematic intro), Hunters’ Gathering social hub, machine enemies, different mission types (machine incursions and cauldron descents), Hunter characters, and graphical style.
The final question asks respondents to pick one aspect of the game itself that is the most exciting to them. Response choices include “It’s a cooperative action game”, “World and characters”, “Gameplay”, “Visuals / Art style”, “Narrative campaign”, and “Replayability”.
Designed as a tactical, skill-driven co-op experience, Horizon Hunters Gathering places players in squads of up to three Hunters tasked with defending a world threatened by deadly machines. Guerrilla says combat builds on the precise, methodical foundations of the mainline Horizon games while adding the unpredictability and coordination demands of multiplayer play.
At launch, the game will feature challenging, replayable hunts as its core structure. Two modes were revealed alongside the announcement. Machine Incursion is a high-intensity scenario where waves of machines emerge from underground gateways, culminating in a powerful boss encounter. Cauldron Descent offers a longer, multi-stage challenge built around procedurally shifting rooms, combining heavy combat encounters with optional paths and hidden doors that can reward teams willing to take additional risks.
Horizon Hunters Gathering is set for release across PlayStation 5 and Windows PC Both aforementioned modes will be playable during an upcoming closed playtest accessible through the PlayStation Beta Program on either platform. Guerrilla Games states that this initial test will be small in scale and focused on gathering player feedback.
