PlayStation Website Leak Reveals Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2 Details Ahead of Capcom Showcase

PlayStation’s official website has accidentally revealed Monster Hunter Wilds‘ Title Update 2 details days before Capcom’s planned June 26, 2025, showcase. The premature listing confirmed returning monsters, new gameplay mechanics, and cosmetic items—all set to launch in the free update on June 30, 2025.

At the center of Monster Hunter Wilds Title update 2 is the long-anticipated return of Lagiacrus, a fan-favorite monster first introduced in the third generation of the series. This confirmation comes as no surprise to followers of recent datamines and speculation. Alongside Lagiacrus, another familiar beast will also make a comeback, with evidence suggesting that Seregios—another well-liked creature from earlier titles—will round out the list of new monsters based on recent leaks.

In addition to these formidable foes, the update introduces Arch-Tempered Uth Duna, a powered-up version of the apex predator from the Scarlet Forest. Hunters daring enough to take on this enhanced version will have the chance to earn an exclusive gamma (γ) variant armor set, designed to reflect the monster’s heightened strength and abilities.

One of the more notable features confirmed in the leak is the inclusion of Layered Weapons, allowing players to alter the appearance of their weapons without affecting their stats or decorations. This system provides hunters with more freedom to customize their gear visually—a long-requested feature by the community.

The update will also offer event quests providing cosmetic rewards such as the Doshaguma Mask, a free gesture set, and various other paid downloadable content options.

Capcom had previously announced that a major Capcom Spotlight livestream would be held on June 26 at 3 PM PT, during which further details on Monster Hunter Wilds would be shared alongside updates for other titles, including Resident Evil Requiem, PRAGMATA, and Street Fighter 6. However, this unintentional reveal has given fans an early glimpse at what the publisher likely intended to keep under wraps until the event.

Monster Hunter Wilds, released worldwide on February 28, 2025, is the latest entry in Capcom’s acclaimed action role-playing series. A successor to Monster Hunter: World, the game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Windows PC, featuring cross-platform play.
