Pokemon Friends Mobile Game Launches Unexpectedly on iOS and Android

In a surprise move, The Pokemon Company has released its latest mobile game, Pokemon Friends, today on both iOS and Android platforms. The plush-themed puzzle game was expected to be unveiled during an upcoming Pokemon Presents showcase but instead appeared on app stores ahead of schedule, catching many fans off guard.

Pokemon Friends invites players into a world of colorful puzzles and plush collectible characters. The game features over 1,200 puzzles, designed to range from simple brainteasers to more challenging logic tests. Players solve these puzzles to earn yarn, which can then be used to create an assortment of plush Pokemon companions.

Set in the cozy locale of Think Town, the game’s narrative follows a community of plush enthusiasts in need of a helping hand. By solving puzzles, players help restore joy and wonder to the townsfolk, blending lighthearted storytelling with casual gameplay.

The game also emphasizes personalization. Players can decorate their own plush rooms with furniture, wallpaper, and an array of collectible plushies, allowing for a high degree of customization. The daily calendar feature encourages players to return regularly, while a catalog system lets them admire their growing collection of Pokemon friends.

Pokemon Friends supports up to five save files, making it accessible for families or shared devices. However, some features are locked behind paid downloadable content. The game is free to start, with optional in-game purchases available. The developers have noted that the game requires a persistent internet connection and is optimized for devices with at least 3GB of RAM.

While the release seems to have come ahead of its official announcement, likely planned for the Pokémon Presents event scheduled today, Pokémon Friends is now available for download.
