The Pokémon Company International has announced the next major expansion for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, titled Mega Dimension. The downloadable content is scheduled to launch on December 10, 2025, for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch consoles. Alongside this announcement, a new side mission featuring the Mythical Pokémon Diancie has been made available within the base game.
According to the official announcement, Mega Dimension introduces players to Hyperspace Lumiose, a distorted parallel version of Lumiose City affected by spatial anomalies. The narrative centers on Ansha, a donut maker whose partner Pokémon, Hoopa, possesses the ability to open portals to hyperspace using special donuts infused with Berries. Trainers will navigate these unstable distortions while investigating the cause of the phenomena, which are tied to Hoopa’s awakened powers.
The DLC also introduces a selection of newly discovered Pokémon, including two debuting Mega Evolutions. Mega Chimecho gains six smaller counterparts that echo its cries to create devastating sound-wave attacks. Meanwhile, Mega Baxcalibur enhances its combat capabilities with an enlarged ice blade capable of powerful offensive strikes. The Mega Stone required to evolve Baxcalibur will be obtainable through the Z-A Battle Club as a Ranked Battle reward.
Players will be joined by Korrina, a successor to the lineage of Mega Evolution experts from earlier series entries. Together with Team MZ, Trainers will explore Hyperspace Lumiose, uncover its mysteries, and address the strange events destabilizing Lumiose City. Certain Pokémon found within Hyperspace Lumiose can surpass the traditional level cap of 100 by attaining “hyperspace levels,” offering new challenges and progression opportunities for experienced players.
In addition to the expansion, Pokémon Legends: Z-A players can now participate in a new in-game side mission titled “Shine Bright like a Gemstone.” Starting November 6, players can obtain a Diancite through the Mystery Gift system, which triggers a quest line at the Looker Bureau involving Mimi the Espurr. Completing this mission allows Trainers to capture Diancie and unlock its Mega Evolution form, Mega Diancie.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension follows the ongoing effort by The Pokémon Company to expand narrative-driven gameplay within the franchise, continuing the Legends subseries’ focus on exploration and lore.
