Pokémon Pokopia Sells 2.2 Million in 4 Days on Switch 2

The Pokémon Company and Nintendo have announced that Pokémon Pokopia has already reached a major sales milestone shortly after its release. The new title for Nintendo Switch 2 has surpassed 2.2 million units sold worldwide within its first four days on the market, according to the company.

Pokémon Pokopia launched globally on March 5, 2026, and quickly found a large audience. Of the 2.2 million units sold so far, 1 million copies were purchased in Japan alone. The figure includes both physical and digital sales.

The game marks a notable shift for the long-running Pokémon franchise. Pokémon Pokopia is described as the series first slow-paced life simulation experience. The project was planned and co-developed by The Pokémon Company, GAME FREAK, and KOEI TECMO GAMES.

In the game, players take on the role of a Ditto that has transformed to resemble a human. From there, the objective revolves around gradually rebuilding a once barren world into a lively and welcoming place. Gathering resources and crafting items forms the core of the experience, allowing players to construct a comfortable home and shape an environment where different Pokémon can settle in.

Another defining feature of Pokémon Pokopia is its real-time structure. The in-game clock is synchronized with the real world, meaning players will see weather patterns and the day and night cycle change naturally as time passes. This design encourages players to spend time interacting with Pokémon and taking part in the small, everyday moments that unfold in the growing community.

Pokémon Pokopia is available now on Nintendo Switch 2. The sales numbers reported by Nintendo account for both physical and digital copies sold worldwide during the first four days following its launch.
