Pragmata has overtaken Resident Evil Requiem to become the most wanted game in Japan, according to the latest Famitsu Most Wanted Games ranking. The updated list was shared publicly by GenkiJPN on X and reflects a notable shift in player interest ahead of several major releases scheduled for early 2026.

In the new rankings, Pragmata secured first place with a total of 620 points, moving ahead of Resident Evil Requiem, which placed second with 525 points. The results position Capcom’s science-fiction action-adventure title as the most anticipated game among Famitsu’s surveyed audience, surpassing one of the publisher’s most established franchises.

The full top ten ranking places Pokémon Pokopia in third position with 451 points, followed by Persona 4 Revival with 318 points. Mario Tennis Fever ranked fifth with 276 points, while Tomodachi Life placed sixth at 223 points. The remainder of the list includes Splatoon Raiders at 212 points, Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave at 201 points, Rhythm Heaven Groove with 182 points, and Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties tied at tenth with 180 points.

Pragmata is an upcoming science-fiction action-adventure game developed and published by Capcom. It represents the company’s first entirely new intellectual property in several years and is being developed using the RE Engine. The game is set in a near-future dystopian world on a lunar research station and follows the journey of Hugh, a human wearing a spacesuit, and Diana, an android girl, as they attempt to return to Earth.

A defining feature of Pragmata is its dual-protagonist gameplay system. Diana provides hacking support and assists with tactical puzzles, while Hugh focuses on firearm-based combat. This blend of action and strategy has been positioned as a core pillar of the experience. Following a series of development delays, Pragmata is now officially scheduled to launch on April 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Resident Evil Requiem, which previously led anticipation rankings, is the ninth mainline entry in Capcom’s long-running survival horror franchise. Directed by Koshi Nakanishi and also built on the RE Engine, the game follows FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and veteran agent Leon S. Kennedy as they investigate a biological outbreak in the remains of Raccoon City. It features a dual-narrative structure that contrasts traditional survival horror with more action-driven sequences and is intended to commemorate the series’ 30th anniversary. The game is scheduled to release on February 27, 2026, for the same platforms as Pragmata.
