The first PlayStation Plus Essential game for April 2026 appears to have leaked ahead of Sony’s official announcement, with Lords of the Fallen reportedly leading the lineup.
The information comes from Dealabs leaker billbil-kun, who stated that the Souls-like action RPG will be included in the upcoming monthly selection. According to the leak, subscribers across all tiers will be able to claim the title starting April 7 through May 5, with availability expected around 10:00 AM French time.
Sony is expected to officially reveal the full lineup on March 31, although the remaining titles in the April selection have not yet surfaced.
Lords of the Fallen, developed and published by CI Games, originally launched in October 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The reboot marked a significant shift for the franchise, transitioning fully to current-generation platforms with a new engine. While reception at launch was mixed, the game has seen extensive post-launch support.
CI Games confirmed that the title surpassed 2.5 million units sold as of March 20, 2026, reaching profitability for the studio. Over 70 updates have been released since launch, culminating in Version 2.5 in December 2025. This update introduced features such as a Veteran Mode, improved enemy encounters, and a dedicated jump button, aiming to refine the overall experience.
The inclusion of Lords of the Fallen in PlayStation Plus would bring renewed attention to the franchise at a time when CI Games is preparing for the release of its sequel. Lords of the Fallen II, announced at Gamescom 2025, is scheduled to launch in 2026 and will feature expanded mechanics and a new setting built on Unreal Engine 5.
For now, the rest of April’s PlayStation Plus Essential lineup remains unconfirmed, with further details expected during Sony’s official announcement later this week.
