Prominently featured in the PS Plus Essential lineup for March, 2025, is Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the fourth main entry in the Dragon Age series and the sequel to 2014’s Dragon Age: Inquisition. It was released on October 31, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X|S. Players take on the role of Rook, a customizable protagonist tasked with stopping the elven trickster god Solas from bringing about the end of the world. In the process, Rook inadvertently releases two other powerful and morally ambiguous elven gods, forcing them to confront an even greater threat. Unlike its predecessor, Dragon Age: The Veilguard shifts away from an open-world structure, instead featuring distinct levels accessible through fast travel. The game also moves away from Inquisition’s tactical gameplay, introducing a new combat system that prioritizes combo-based abilities.
