PS Plus Essential September 2023 Games Lineup Includes Saints Row (2022)

The PS Plus Essential lineup for the month of September, 2023, has been partially leaked, and among the prominent additions to its catalog is Deep Silver and Volition’s Saint’s Row.

The official announcement for PS Plus games usually occurs on the last Wednesday of every month, but it appears to have been partially leaked a whole day earlier. The leak comes from well-known leaker billbil-kun, who has leaked the PS Plus Essential lineup several times before.

The games announced for PS Plus Essential subscribers in the month of September, 2023 are as follows:

Saint’s Row (PS4/PS5)
Black Desert – Traveler Edition (PS4)
Generation Zero (PS4)

The latest additions to PS Plus Essential will be available to subscribers starting from Tuesday, September 5, 2023 up until Monday, October 2, 2023. PlayStation Plus members have until Monday, September 4 to add the August, 2023 lineup i.e.PGA Tour 2K23 (PS4/PS5), Dreams (PS4),and Death’s Door (PS4/PS5).

For the uninitiated, Saints Row is an action-adventure game developed by Volition and published by Deep Silver. It serves as a reboot of the Saints Row series, being the fifth main entry after Saints Row IV in 2013. The game was released on August 23, 2022, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia. The story is set in the fictional city of Santo Ileso, inspired by Las Vegas. It follows four friends who establish the Saints, an outlaw gang, and expand their influence by taking control from other criminal groups in the city.

The game is played from a third-person perspective, and its open world can be traversed on foot or using vehicles. Players combat foes with various firearms and tools, and can call upon AI gang members for support. Similar to past entries, the player assumes the role of the gang’s leader, known as “the Boss”, with extensive customization options. Alongside the main storyline, players have the freedom to explore Santo Illeso and partake in diverse side activities. The game also features online cooperative multiplayer, enabling two players to collaboratively experience the single-player campaign while making progress in their individual games.
