The PS Plus Essential lineup for the month of September, 2025, has been revealed, and it features Xbox Game Studios and Double Fine’s critically acclaimed 3D platformer, Psychonauts 2.
The PlayStation Blog has officially announced the lineup of monthly titles that are set to be available to PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium subscribers in the month of August. The games will be available for download starting Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

The monthly games that are available for Essential, Extra, and Premium tier subscribers in the month of September, 2025 are as follows:

The latest additions to PS Plus Essential will be available to subscribers starting from Tuesday, September 2, 2025, up until Monday, October 6, 2025. PlayStation Plus members have until Monday, September 1, 2025 to add the August, 2025, lineup i.e. Lies of P (PS5, PS4), Day Z (PS4), and My Hero One’s Justice 2 |(PS4).

Prominently featured in the PS Plus Essential lineup for September, 2025, is Psychonauts 2, a 3D platformer adventure released released on August 25, 2021, for PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with Linux and macOS versions following on May 24, 2022. The story picks up immediately after the events of Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin. Players once again step into the role of Razputin “Raz” Aquato, a gifted acrobat training to become a full-fledged Psychonaut—an elite psychic agent tasked with thwarting those who misuse mental powers. The narrative delves into the mysterious abduction of the Psychonauts’ leader and gradually uncovers secrets tied to both the organization’s origins and Raz’s own family. Gameplay centers on exploring surreal mindscapes belonging to different characters. Within these psychological worlds, Raz gains access to a mix of new and familiar psychic abilities, which he uses to navigate distorted environments and fight manifestations of inner turmoil.
