Sand Land is adapted from the 2000 manga, of the same name, created by Akira Toriyama. It stands as one of the final works he contributed to before his passing on March 1, 2024. The game was released in April 2024 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X|S. Its narrative focuses on Beelzebub, Rao, Ann, and Thief, as they travel across a desert landscape in search of a Legendary Spring, confronting monsters and the forces of a tyrannical king along the way. Players assume control of Beelzebub. The game’s combat system includes both light and heavy melee attacks, trading speed for power, and features the ability to dodge incoming strikes.
