A remake of Until Dawn was officially revealed in January, 2024, and released for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC on October 4, 2024. The project was handled by Ballistic Moon, a studio founded by former Supermassive developers who had worked on the original title. Built with Unreal Engine 5, the remake features enhanced visuals, a newly composed score by Mark Korven, and introduces a third-person, over-the-shoulder camera perspective along with a new collectible type called Hunger Totems.

Although the core narrative remains mostly unchanged, the remake expands the experience with additional character interactions, an extended prologue, and multiple new endings. The placement of existing totems has also been altered. The “Don’t Move” mechanic, which originally required players to keep the PlayStation controller still, was redesigned to work on PC. A new system called “Stay Calm” was added for controllers without gyroscopic input, preserving the same high-stakes tension without relying on motion controls.
