PS Plus Extra Confirmed To Get A Big Indie Game In September 2024
The PS Plus Extra lineup for the month of September, 2024, has not been revealed, though one prominent additions to its catalog has been confirmed.
The latest additions to PS Plus Extra are expected to be available to subscribers starting from Tuesday, September 17, 2024. The full list is not yet available, but Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed a major indie title that will be included i.e. The Plucky Squire. The game will be available to PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium subscribers day one on its release day.
For the uninitiated, The Plucky Squire is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by the indie studio All Possible Futures and published by Devolver Digital. Scheduled for release on September 17, 2024, it will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. The game follows the magical adventures of storybook characters Jot and his friends as they discover a three-dimensional world beyond the pages of their book.
The story focuses on Jot, the heroic protagonist, who is expelled from his storybook by the villainous Humgrump. Humgrump, realizing that he is destined to be defeated by Jot and the forces of righteousness, alters the story by kicking Jot out of its pages, thereby changing the narrative. To restore the storybook’s happy ending and save his friends from Humgrump’s dark forces, Jot must navigate challenges both within the book and in the outside world. Throughout his journey, Jot gains the ability to jump between the 2D and 3D worlds, encountering puzzles, mini challenges like boxing badgers and jetpack flying, and other obstacles as he strives to become the hero of a living storybook.
Fortunately, Martina, a friendly shopkeeper, is there to help. As you explore both realms, you’ll find lightbulbs that serve as inspiration. You can collect them by hitting trees, cutting bushes, or defeating enemies, and then trade them at Martina’s shops. These lightbulbs allow you to unlock powerful combat moves for Jot.
