PS Plus Premium Adds Another Game Trial For A Big Release

PlayStation’s highest tier subscription service, PS Plus Premium, has received another game trial for a major release.

The game in question is none othe than Ghostwire Tokyo. Those who are subscribed to PS Plus Premium can now play a one hour game trial for Bethesda and Tango Interactive’s latest title.

As with other game trials, the offer is only available to PS Plus Premium members. PS Plus Essential and PS Plus Extra members will need to upgrade to the highest tier in order to benefit from the feature.

Previously, it was reported that Bethesda has already begun promoting the Xbox Series X and S versions of the game.

Ghostwire Tokyo is a 2022 action-adventure game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game released worldwide on March 25, 2022 for PlayStation 5 and PC, will an Xbox version to follow a year later. It is played from a first-person perspective. To vanquish the ghosts and spirits spooking Tokyo, the player can employ a variety of psychic and paranormal abilities.

The combat, according to combat director Shinichiro Hara, is “karate meets magic,” as the player character uses Kuji-kiri-inspired hand gestures to cast spells. The player can use takedown moves to destroy an enemy when its core is exposed after it has lost the majority of its health. Characters can gain spirit points and resources for skill upgrades by slaying these spirits and gathering Yokai.

Ghostwire: Tokyo’s story follows Akito, a young man is partially possessed by a spirit. He awakens with control over his body, with the exception of his right hand, which is taken over by the spirit. A terrifying fog that turns anyone caught in it into a spirit descends shortly after. The spirit that resides in Akito saves him. Nearby, a man wearing a Hannya mask (known only as Hannya casts a spell to call forth evil spirits and imprison them in cages throughout Shibuya.
