Sony has released the latest PS4 firmware update 9.50 today along with a new system software update for the PS5. Here is the changelog for this update.

Just like the PS5 update, this one appears to be focused on implementing some changes to the Party function on the PS4. The changelog mentions that the Party functionality has been updated allowing to either start an open or closed party.

One minor change appears to be the addition of Ukrainian language support for PS4. Take a look at the complete changelog below.

PS4 Firmware Update 9.50 Changelog

Version 9.50

In Party, we’ve updated the following:

  • Now when you start a party, you can select either an open party or a closed party.
    • An open party lets your friends join without an invite. Friends of party members can also join. A closed party is only for players you invite.
  •  You can now individually adjust the voice chat volume of each player in a party.
  • We’ve added Ukrainian language support.

PS4 is continuing to sell along with the PS5, which has been on the market for more than a year now. Sony is still supporting PS4 with cross-generation games with the upcoming God of War Ragnarok also launching on the PS4 in addition to the PS5.
