PS5 Led Resident Evil Requiem Sales in the US, Outpacing PC

PlayStation 5 emerged as the leading platform for Resident Evil Requiem in the United States during its launch month, according to new data shared by Circana. The information was revealed by Mat Piscatella, Senior Director and Video Game Industry Advisor at the firm.

In a public statement, Piscatella said, “Anyways, yes PS5 was also the lead platform for Requiem in the US during February (full results coming out Friday). PS5 was below 50% of the game’s US full game dollar sales in the month, but it was the lead platform by a meaningful margin over PC.” The data is based on Circana Retail Tracking Service figures.

Additional context from industry analyst Christopher Dring suggests a similar trend in other regions, though with some variation. He noted, “I didn’t make a guess. I asked my data partners. And that’s what they told me. You’re right, it’s all early estimates. And PS5 being 54% of sales in Europe isn’t going to be reflected everywhere. But the data I’ve been told, is that PS5 was top for Resi.”

Resident Evil Requiem launched on February 27, 2026, and quickly became the fastest-selling entry in the franchise, surpassing 6 million units sold within just over two weeks. The game features Leon S Kennedy and FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft as dual protagonists, set against a narrative tied to the legacy of Raccoon City.

The title is available across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, while also serving as a flagship release for the Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom has already confirmed that additional story content is in development, as the company continues to build on the game’s strong launch performance.
