A price hike for the PS5 is likely in the event that the US and China don’t reach a tariff agreement by August, as per analyst Daniel Ahmed.
Daniel Ahmed, Director of Research and Insights at Niko Partners, took to Twitter/X to share that the recently announced PlayStation Days of Play sale on PS5 consoles and accessories is has been made possible by Sony Interactive Entertainment stocking up on inventory prior to tariffs as well as the 90-day tariff pause and resumption of shipments.

The analyst pointed out that the PS5 has already received a price hike in some markets, and that Sony Interactive Entertainment is now considering future increases. According to him, if the US and China don’t reach an agreement on tariffs by August 14, 2025, a price hike for the PS5 is back on the table.
