A new hardware revision of the PlayStation 5 Pro has quietly gone live at select European retailers. The update, confirmed by reliable industry insider Billbil-kun, appears to retain the same design and core specifications as the original model, with no sign of a revised DualSense controller.
Listings for the updated console, identified under the model number CFI-7121, have surfaced on several retailer sites, including PC Componentes in Spain, Amazon France, and Dreamland in Belgium. The packaging does not highlight any major differences, and early reports indicate the revision is not yet available across all European markets.
Billbil-kun noted that despite speculation, there are no visible changes to the DualSense controller included with the console. “No visible changes to the DualSense included with the new PS5 Pro. Even recent EU certifications show no sign of a new controller revision,” the leaker wrote on social media. This effectively rules out the rumored addition of a removable battery feature that had been circulating online.
The revision itself is expected to follow the pattern of earlier PlayStation hardware refreshes, introducing minor internal adjustments rather than sweeping updates. These types of changes typically aim at improving efficiency or reducing manufacturing costs. Importantly, the PS5 Pro retains its 2 TB SSD storage capacity, avoiding the controversy that surrounded the PS5 Slim’s E-Chassis launch, which reduced storage from 1 TB to 825 GB.
Certification filings in Japan earlier this year hinted that a Pro revision was on the way, but until now, there was no clarity about its European rollout. With listings now appearing online, the updated system is set to be available from September 30, 2025, at a retail price of €799.99.
Although the full scope of internal changes remains unclear, Sony’s decision to release another Pro hardware variant aligns with its strategy of gradual updates rather than dramatic redesigns. Players can expect the same performance and storage features as the existing PS5 Pro, with any improvements likely confined to behind-the-scenes optimizations.
