The PS5 Pro has apparently either sold out or is selling at a hefty markup after the recent GTA VI showcase on Netflix.
GTA VI is nearing its November 19, 2026 release, and PS5 Pro is attracting attention as the best way to experience Rockstar Games’ upcoming blockbuster following its recent Netflix showcase, making its availability and pricing a problem (via Red Kong XIX on ResetEra).
In Europe, the console’s intended price is 899.99 Euros, yet offers on OTTO begin at around 999 Euros, while some Amazon listings carry similar pricing with a shipping window of three to seven months. Media Markt and Saturn have also reportedly shown the console as sold out or available through third-party sellers for more, including 1,299.99 Euros. A PS5 Pro bundle with EA Sports FC 27 has been listed at 1,379.99 Euros, while Sony’s PlayStation Direct store shows “currently unavailable” as of writing.
Meanwhile, in the US market, an Amazon listing shown in the above screenshot has the PS5 Pro at 1,299.99 US Dollars, available in stock. Similarly, Best Buy shows Sony Interactive Entertainment’s mid-gen console as “Sold Out” alongside the price of 1,147 US Dollars. The listings are posted by third-party sellers, and, in both cases, prices are well above the console maker’s MSRP of 899.99 US Dollars, with markups as high as 400 US Dollars.
The situation is reminiscent of the PS5’s supply crisis around launch, although the pressures are different this time. The storage shortage, linked to AI-driven demand, and the increased interest in GTA VI after the recent Netflix showcase are both contributing to the PS5 Pro getting sold out.
