PS5 Update 25.06-12.00.00 Adds Power Saver Mode and Controller Improvements

by Ali Haider

Sony has released a new system software update for the PlayStation 5, bringing several quality-of-life improvements and fresh features to the console. Version 25.06-12.00.00 is now available, headlined by a new power saver mode that allows players to reduce power consumption in supported titles.

With this update, users can toggle the feature under Settings > System > Power Saving > Use Power Saver. The option can be enabled or disabled on a per-game basis. When activated, an icon will appear next to the game in the Switcher menu within the control center, making it easy to track which titles are currently running in power saver mode.

Alongside the system changes, Sony has delivered new firmware for the DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers. Players can now pair their controllers with up to four different devices and seamlessly switch connections without needing to re-register. The update also includes stability upgrades for the DualSense, DualSense Edge, PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers, and the Access controller.

Other refinements include improved messaging on select screens, overall usability tweaks, and the expected round of performance and stability enhancements.
