Sony appears to be preparing one of its most aggressive accessory promotions in recent years, as new information from Dealabs suggests that the PlayStation VR2 will receive a substantial price cut for Black Friday 2025. Beginning November 21, all PS VR2 models sold across Europe are expected to receive an immediate €100 discount, lowering the price of the virtual reality headset to its lowest official figure to date.
Price Details and Bundles
According to Dealabs, Sony plans to reduce the standard PS VR2 headset from its current price of €449.99 to €349.99 for the duration of the Black Friday campaign. The report adds that the PS VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle, which includes a code for the exclusive VR adventure title, is also likely to drop to €349.99 in most European regions.
The PS VR2 previously saw a 33% discount during Black Friday 2024 before Sony permanently lowered its price in February 2025. This year’s planned offer would go even further, delivering a lower entry point than last year’s temporary promotion and positioning the headset as one of the most significant deals of Sony’s holiday lineup. Players who subscribe to PlayStation Plus can also take advantage of an additional 5% discount on the PlayStation Direct store, with the Dealabs report noting that this reduction should stack with this year’s Black Friday pricing.
The headset’s anticipated discount is timed with similar price cuts for Sony’s flagship consoles. Earlier leaks suggested that PS5 and PS5 Pro systems will also receive a €100 reduction across Europe as part of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s broader Black Friday 2025 initiative. This is the first official price drop for the PS5 Pro since its release and makes clear Sony’s strategy to boost sales across both hardware and accessories during the holiday period.
The PS VR2, originally positioned as a high-end accessory for dedicated PlayStation VR enthusiasts, has continued to evolve through new software releases and firmware updates. With cross-compatibility improvements and broader support across major VR titles, this Black Friday discount may help increase adoption as Sony enters the latter half of the PS5 generation.
