Radical Entertainment has now been renamed to New Radical Games, and the studio’s new website is hinting at the possibility of a Prototype as well as The Simpsons Hit and Run remaster.
Today, Radical Entertainment changed it name to New Radical Games, relaunching its website (via nicknp16 on Reddit) and prominently highlighting two of its prior titles, Prototype and The Simpsons Hit and Run, hinting at the possibility of both games getting the remaster treatment. The page mentions that the studio has amassed invaluable experience since its inception in 1991. The developer states that it knows how to capture the essence of world-class intellectual properties, and deliver licensed games that delight fans everywhere.
Among its services, New Radical Games mentions lists full game, metaverse, real-time VFX project development, core development ranging from monetization to testing product marketing and scaling liveops, co-developing games as a support studio, porting games to new platforms, and remastering games by enhancing visuals audio, and gameplay to revive titles for modern hardware and appeal to both new and longtime players. With both Prototype and The Simpsons Hit and Run being prominently featured on the new website, it looks like studio already has some remaster projects in the pipeline.
Back in September, one of the original modders for Prototype datamined a recent update for Prototype and uncovered some interesting changes that hinted at the possibility of a remaster being in development. Among the findings were several test maps that were not part of the original release, as well as a surprising number of new names added to the game’s credits. These changes stood out as odd, considering that the game hadn’t received meaningful updates in years. While the inclusion of test maps also suggested internal development experiments, the revised credits were a stronger hint at the possibility of a Prototype remaster.
