Rockstar Games’ open world action-adventure game, Red Dead Redemption 2, may soon be headed to new plaforms, as per a tease from voice actor Rob Wiethoff.

During his live stream session, Rob Wiethoff, the actor who played the role of John Marston in both Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2, teased the arrival of the latter on new platforms sometime soon.

While playing Red Dead Redemption, Wiethoff mentioned that he’s got such exciting news that he can’t share with everyone for now, and that it’s “absolutely killing” him. He’s expecting it to be revealed by the end of this week or sooner, but not as soon as tomorrow. According to him, the news will be shared before the coming Friday. He added that he won’t be the only one sharing it, and that he cannot wait for everyone to know what’s going on. He also said that this news is the only thing he can think about right now, especially while playing Red Dead Redemption, suggesting that it is related to the series.

Wiethoff is likely referring to the previously rumored PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 versions of Red Dead Redemption 2. In his recent video, insider and content creator Nate the Hate had stated that prior rumors regarding Dead Redemption 2 getting a current-gen upgrade for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S were true., and that the game will also be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year in 2025. He believes the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Red Dead Redemption 2 will be accompanied by a press release that will share details on the PS5 and Xbox Series upgrades. Based on what his sources told him, the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 versions of Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released during the late Summer or early Fall window.
