The support page for Rockstar Games’ open world action-adventure game, Red Dead Redemption 2, has been updated, hinting at the existence of next gen versions.
Rockstar Games has updated the support page for Red Dead Redemption 2 with a new issue involving online migration, which is usually there to facilitate the transition of player stats and progress when moving from a previous platform to its next gen successor. This indicates that the developer may be on the verge of announcing PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of its open world action-adventure game.

This isn’t the first we’ve heard of the possibility of Red Dead Redemption 2 receiving next gen ports. Last month, insider and content creator Nate the Hate also endorsed rumors regarding the open world action-adventure game getting a current-gen upgrade for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. He also claimed that it will also be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year in 2025. He mentioned that he was initially going to hold on to this information for a Nintendo Direct predictions episode on his YouTube channel, as he felt it would be a game that Nintendo would want to have as a headliner in a future presentation.
Nate believes that the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Red Dead Redemption 2 will be accompanied by a press release that will share details on the PS5 and Xbox Series upgrades. Based on what his sources told him, the new versions will be released a few months from now. He believes that a late Summer or early Fall window is likely.
Two years ago, Jeux Vidéo editor Chris Klippel claimed that Rockstar Games was gearing up to announce a Red Dead Redemption 2 remaster at a subsequent State of Play, and that a trailer had also been prepared. None of this actually happened, however, but the rumor refused to go away.
