The PC version of Rockstar Games’ open world action adventure game, Red Dead Redemption, outshine its console counterparts in terms of visuals. Here’s a comparison that show the difference.
A screenshot comparison between the PC and console versions of Red Dead Redemption has revealed that the former has notable graphical advantages over the latter. Rockstar Games has also updated the game’s system requirements on Steam. It’s worth noting that the developer has likely listed an RTX graphics card as the recommended GPU spec since GTX cards are no longer supported by NVIDIA.
Red Dead Redemption PC vs PS4 Graphics Comparison

As seen above, Red Dead Redemption on Windows benefits from much better draw distance compared to the PS4 version, particularly with respect to foliage.
As for the system requirements, the PC version of Red Dead Redemption will require Windows 10 64-Bit as the minimum operating system. Players will also need a decent processor, with either the Intel® Core™ i5-4670 or the AMD FX-9590 being the minimum requirement. The game also requires a minimum of 8 GB RAM, and either an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or the AMD Radeon R7 360. Additionally, the game will need 12 GB of available storage space.
In terms of recommended specs, the game will require Windows 10 64-Bit or higher as the operating system. Players will also need a good processor, with either the Intel® Core™ i5-8500 or the AMD Ryzen 5 3500X being the recommended requirement. Meanwhile, the recommendation for RAM remains at 8 GB. In terms of graphics, either an NVIDIA RTX 2070 or the AMD RX 5700 XT have been recommended. Additionally, an SSD with 12 GB of storage space is recommended.
Red Dead Redemption was recently released for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. It is set for release for PC on October 29, 2024.
