Remedy Entertainment is targeting a 2027 release window for its upcoming action-adventure game, Control 2, followed by Alan Wake 3 and Control 3 in 2029 and 2030, respectively.

In its extensive analyst report published in December, 2024, Remedy Entertainment revealed its future strategy in light of its upcoming lineup of titles. As per the report, the company is targeting the year 2027 for the release of Control 2, while Alan Wake 3 & Control 3 will launch in 2029 and 2030, respectively.

Control 2 release

Given how far both Alan Wake 3 and Control 3 are from release, their  stated release windows are likely estimates and not concrete at this point in time. Given how Remedy Entertainment has FBC: Firebreak, Control 2, and the Max Mayne 1&2 Remake set for release before the arrival of Alan Wake 3, these estimates can change over time.

As for an update on the development of its upcoming titles, in the Remedy Entertainment’s financial statement for the year 2024, company CEO Tero Virtala mentioned that FBC: Firebreak continues in full production. In December, the development team successfully conducted a closed technical test with external players. They tested the game’s matchmaking and back-end services, collecting data and experience to aid in shaping the final product. FBC: Firebreak will be self-published by Remedy Entertainment in 2025.

Meanwhile, the development team has been finalizing the the production readiness stage for Control 2, and has entered full production after the end of the fourth quarter in February 2025. The project has verified the velocity of asset creation, established production pipelines, and is ready for scaling up for production.

Lastly, Max Payne 1&2 Remake is making steady progress in full production. According to Virtala, the development progress is heading towards the company’s key development objectives together with the game’s publisher Rockstar Games.

In terms of future plan, Virtala mentioned that Remedy Entertainment is looking to grow and expand its two established franchises, Control and Alan Wake, which are linked through its Connected Universe. The company will self-publish upcoming games for both IPs.
