Report Claims Two Major Resident Evil Characters Will Not Appear in Requiem

by Ali Haider

Well-known insider AestheticGamer, also known as Dusk Golem, has pushed back against circulating rumors claiming that Chris Redfield and Ada Wong will appear in Resident Evil Requiem. The comments were made in response to social media posts attributing alleged character involvement to Dusk Golem, which he says are inaccurate.

Addressing the rumor directly, Dusk Golem wrote, “I’m gonna’ snip this in the bud since people love applying fake rumors to me, I never said this, it’s a misc fake leak floating around. I don’t believe Chris or Ada are in Resident Evil Requiem at all either from what I’ve heard, at least in any meaningful way.” His response came after another account suggested that Dusk Golem had hinted at potential appearances by Chris Redfield and Ada Wong either in the main story or future downloadable content.

When another user asked for clarification by saying, “Do you mean Chris or Ida?” Dusk Golem replied plainly, “Both aren’t in from what I’ve heard.” These statements represent the clearest denial yet from the insider regarding the two long-running Resident Evil characters being part of the upcoming title.

Beyond character speculation, Dusk Golem also discussed the unusually secretive nature of Capcom’s marketing campaign for Resident Evil Requiem. He stated, “Requiem has definitely been Capcom’s most secretive Resident Evil marketing campaign ever, pros & cons to that as anything, but the answer is a lot still.” He further cautioned that leaks may be imminent, adding, “RE9 is very likely to leak with early copies in roughly a couple weeks from now, I recommend people who want surprises.”

Responding to a user who expressed interest in spoilers, Dusk Golem said, “Yeee, and I won’t judge you for it. But I like to respect people close to release who like to go on blackout and give them a heads up now’s the time to enact avoiding spoilers.” He also commented on spoiler culture more broadly, stating, “I wish people were kinder to others in not plastering big spoilers everywhere, & also just in general.”

Dusk Golem contrasted Requiem’s marketing approach with previous entries, writing, “Resident Evil 7 & Village absolutely did not have the same level of secrecy as RE9 has had.” He elaborated that earlier games revealed large portions of their content ahead of launch, while Requiem is keeping far more hidden. “Resident Evil Requiem has kept a lot close to the chest. To the point they’re actually even now hiding main mechanics & game design decisions from people. They’re hiding most of the enemy types, & really only showing one section of the game while still hiding a lot.”

Resident Evil Requiem is a survival horror title developed and published by Capcom as the ninth mainline installment in the franchise. The game follows dual protagonists Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst, and Leon S. Kennedy as they investigate a bioterrorism outbreak in the ruins of Raccoon City roughly 30 years after its destruction. It is scheduled for worldwide release on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Windows, and Nintendo Switch 2.
