Capcom has released a collection of classic titles on Steam, bringing Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 Nemesis, and Breath of Fire IV to the platform starting today. Each title is priced at $9.99, with a limited time 50% launch discount available until April 15 at 10:00 AM PT.
The release coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Resident Evil series, revisiting the original trilogy that helped define the survival horror genre. First released in 1996, Resident Evil introduced players to a blend of puzzle-solving, resource management, and tense encounters with enemies. Its sequels expanded on that formula, featuring characters such as Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, and Claire Redfield, while introducing iconic threats including Nemesis, Mr. X, and the Lickers.
Alongside the horror classics, Breath of Fire IV also joins Steam’s catalog. The role-playing game follows protagonist Ryu and his companions as they confront a powerful immortal emperor in a story-driven adventure. As the fourth entry in the long-running series, it remains one of Capcom’s notable RPG releases.
According to Capcom, these new PC versions aim to retain the original gameplay experience while incorporating adjustments for modern systems. This includes improved compatibility with current operating systems and support for contemporary controllers, ensuring the titles remain accessible to a new audience.
With all four games now available digitally, the publisher is marking the occasion by making some of its most recognizable legacy titles easier to access on PC, while offering a temporary discount for early adopters.
