Resident Evil Games on RE Engine Reportedly Coming to Nintendo Switch 2, Including Requiem

A new round of insider reports suggests that Capcom is preparing to bring its entire library of Resident Evil titles developed on the RE Engine to Nintendo Switch 2. This includes Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem.

The claim comes from industry insider AestheticGamer, also known as Dusk Golem, who stated on Twitter/X that these games have been in development for Switch 2 for some time. According to him, the titles will be native ports optimized for the new hardware rather than cloud-streamed versions, a common limitation on the original Nintendo Switch.

“Yee, they’ve been working on porting all the RE Engine Resident Evil games to Nintendo Switch 2 for a hot minute now. Requiem should be landing on Nintendo Switch 2 as well,” wrote AestheticGamer. He added that he has heard multiple reliable confirmations about these projects, though he admitted not having direct insight into Capcom’s marketing schedule.

This follows earlier speculation that Resident Evil 7 would headline the next Nintendo Direct presentation. Content creator Attackdabacklog hinted at a survival horror title being revealed for the Switch 2 during the event, while insider NWeedle further teased the announcement by quoting a line from Ethan Winters’ wife Mia, a key character from Resident Evil 7.

Adding to the speculation, SwitchForce claimed that Nintendo’s upcoming showcase, reportedly scheduled for September 12, 2025, will include “three games linked to the number seven.” While the precise meaning of this hint remains ambiguous, fans are already speculating it could point to Resident Evil 7 as part of the lineup.

Capcom has not issued an official statement regarding these rumors. However, the company is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Resident Evil franchise, and Dusk Golem suggested that a coordinated set of announcements could align with that milestone. For now, fans will have to wait and see whether Resident Evil 7 and other RE Engine entries make their way onto Nintendo’s next system.
