Resident Evil Requiem may receive downloadable content following its launch, according to new comments from industry insider AestheticGamer, also known as Dusk Golem. While Capcom has not officially confirmed any post-launch plans for the title, the insider claims that DLC is already in development and further along than many expect.
Responding to a question on social media about whether Resident Evil 9 would receive additional content, Dusk Golem stated, “Not confirmed officially no, but I’ve heard pretty reliably Resident Evil Requiem has DLC that’s further along in dev.” He explained that internal development shifts and delays have influenced the broader franchise roadmap.
According to the insider, the ninth mainline entry experienced multiple delays. He wrote that “RE9 got delayed in dev a few times, Apocalypse was aiming for 2023, then Requiem was aiming for 2025, delayed to 2026.” As a result, the release window between Resident Evil Requiem and the next major installment has reportedly narrowed. In a follow-up post, he added, “RE”10″ (though likely won’t be called that) is a bit shorter than usual… & DLC for RE9 has had time to cook.”
Dusk Golem further suggested that in an earlier timeline, Resident Evil Requiem would have launched in 2025 with DLC arriving in 2026 to bridge the gap to other projects such as Code Veronica Remake and Zero Remake. “It’s just due to RE9 getting delayed they’ll be close together,” he stated, referencing how the schedule shifted.
Resident Evil Requiem is scheduled for worldwide release on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Windows PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version planned for summer 2026. Developed using Capcom’s RE Engine, the title features a dual protagonist narrative centered on Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy, alongside a hybrid first-person and third-person perspective system.
Capcom has not commented publicly on any downloadable content plans for Resident Evil Requiem. As such, the reported DLC remains unconfirmed. Still, the insider’s remarks suggest that post-launch support may already be underway, even if official details have yet to surface.
